The ESI Hospitals and dispensaries available in the North Eastern Region state-wise are as under :-

At present there is no plan to set up more ESI Hospitals/dispensaries in North Eastern States but with the increase in the insured persons in these areas the ESIC may consider to open ESIHospitals/dispensaries.

As the ESI Act, 1948, does not apply to plantations, tea gardens as they are not covered underESI Scheme. A statement indicating the total number of employees covered under the scheme, state-wise is given in Annexure.

As on 31-3-2010, a total of 65,800 employees are covered under ESI Scheme in the North-Eastern States. State-wise details are as under:
